"Is he gonna be ok?"
"Not sure, I found him outside the kings stables asleep, figured to myself he'd to much to drink."
"why bring him here?"
"Why not? i mean the king would have him in the gallows if they'd caught him."
Polar slowly came to hearing the conversation going on around him, as he groaned he heard someone gasp and back away. As Polar opened his eyes he saw a blurry man standing over top of him, and the smell of sweet hazel reached his nose.
"How ye feelin good sir?" The man said in a weird accent, as Polar looked at him, his vision clearing up.
"where am i? how'd i get here? and who are you?" Polar groaned out.
"I told ye he was a spy, didnt i? he wears strange clothes and he speaks differently." A woman said stepping behind the man.
"Now victoria, just because he's diffent doesn't make him a spy." the man said smiling at the woman who Polar assumed was his wife." yer not a spy are ya?"
"I'm no spy, i dont even know how i got here." Polar replied.
"Well ye best be lucky i was passing by the royal stables when i did. yes sir you were all asleep and all with the kings doors open. How did you get em doors open?" The man asked.
"I dont know what your speaking of," Polar replied thinking to himself best keep his powers unknown," i just wanna know where am i and who are you?"
"Excuse me, i must have forgoten me manners, my names nathanial and this is my wife victoria, and as for where you are i welcome you to our home, i know it isnt much but can't get anything better with the king raising taxes again." nathanial replied.
Polar was about to ask another question when there was a small nocking sound. nathanial excused himself while grabbing a small bag and headed out the room. even though Polar could not see nathanial his abnormal hearing traced him through the house to the front door. Polar hear the creek of the door opening and the quick sound of feet walking in. Polar looked to victoria only to see her raise a finger to her lips. Then polar heard something being pushed against a wall and heard the heavy breathing of a heavy set man.
"Time to pay the tax worm!!!" the heavy set man growled.
"Here take it, just leave my family alone." Polar heard nathanial cry as polar heard coins being dropped .
"Alright the tax is here, and now where's my keepers fee?" the man sneered.
"Please, i need money so i can feed my family, it's all i got left!" Nathanial begged.
"Oh i'm sorry, you need food and stuff i guess i can wait, NOT! GIVE ME MY MONEY NOW!!! or i know a certain daughter who will have a nice new home living with me." THe man laughed.
"Here take the money, dont touch my daughter!!" Nathanial screemed, throwing the pouch into the mans hands.
"Now that's better, i'll see you again real soon...." The man said throwing nathanial to the side, and walking out the door metal clinking all over.
Victoria realsed Polar where she'd had stopped him when he heard the man push nathanial against the wall. Polar rushed to nathanial making his way through the house tracing nathanials earlier steps. When Polar reached nathanial he caught the sent of the man and could still hear the metal clinking away. As Polar went to chase the man, nathanial grabbed his hand.
"No my friend, dont go. ye just be looking for trouble. anyways that man is twice the size of you, he'd hurt you." Nathanial said pulling himself up off the floor.
"Fine" Polar sighed and thought to himself, "If you only knew, i wouldnt be the one getting hurt."
"Well we best get ye some new clothes before the soilders think your a spy like victoria. I think some of my old clothes might fit you." Nathanial said pushing away the thoughts of even just a few seconds ago.
"Thank you, i need to go see if i can find my friends." Polar said listening for the man to come back.
"Here ye go this should fit ya." nathanial laughed holding up and old brown tunic.
As Polar starts to walk out victoria calls to him, " If you dont find your friends or if you do your welcome to stay here tonight."!
"ok i will!" Polar shouts as he walks outside.
